Many Ford Police Interceptor Utility owners and upfitters wish to install civilian-style Explorer center stacks or police admin consoles in their vehicles. However, the factory Audio Control Module (ACM)—normally mounted behind the dash—physically blocks these upgrades from being installed in the intended location.
As a result, some installers attempt risky workarounds: removing the ACM’s casing, force-fitting it behind the console, or modifying the dash with power tools.
